I've got a feelin'...

...that this year is going to be momentous.

I was going over last year's resolution list and found that I had accomplished most of what I'd committed to. It fascinates me how just writing a desire down is a huge part of actually realizing it. So here's the list in review:

1. Read the Bible in a year with Max Lucado- Done! Except without Max because he got left on the airplane.
2. Complete a 40 day fast- Done!
3. Read 12 new books- I am still finishing 2 but you can see the list on the page to the right.
4. Exercise consistently- I can say that aside from 3 weeks during holidays, I did but I will never be done.
5. Write thank you notes for little things- Still doing!
6. Get 8 hours of sleep a day (or at least try to go to bed at a decent hour)- Fail! (I'm lucky to get 6)
7. Wake up early- For the most part, yes
8. Take an adventure trip with my boys- rafting in West Virginia & weekend in DC
9. Commit RAKs throughout the day- This one was more about seeing opportunities to be uncommonly gracious and capitalizing on what I normally consider "interruptions". What a change of perspective that makes everyday feel like an adventure!

In addition to those things I'd written down, this past year has been full of other surprises and fresh opportunities:
-I released another album (EP) of which the title track, "Crossing Over" has gotten local radio play.
-I completed my first 5k.
-We have hosted 2 foreign exchange students in our home.
-I went to jail.
-Went on a mission trip to Honduras.
-I memorized a whole chapter of the Bible!
*okay I went with a group of ladies to minister to women in jail*

Looking back is inspiring me to dream bigger and reach farther for 2011. This year's theme is "Loving God with my Body, Mind, and Soul". Here are some of my resolutions...
Body
- RUN! a 5k
- Change my eating habits to reflect long-term health rather than short-term gratification
Mind
- Take some music classes
- Read a book per month
Soul
- Set aside consistent time to join with others in prayer
- Memorize scripture
- Capitalize on daily gospel sharing moments (verbal, and otherwise)

I hope you've made some inspiring goals for yourself, too!

Happy New Year!
